If the gate didn’t open automatically, here are a few things to check:
1. Make sure vehicle recognition is enabled.
Go to Account › Vehicles, select your car, scroll to the bottom, and check that Vehicle Recognition is turned on.
If it’s off, switch it on and tap Save.
2. Scan the QR code the first time you park in that vehicle.
The first time you use each car with Spott’s vehicle recognition, you’ll need to scan the QR code at the entry gate.
This helps Spott recognise your car for future visits.
3. Check if the car park supports vehicle recognition.
Not all Spott car parks have vehicle recognition yet.
In the Wilson Parking App, go to Find a Park, choose your car park, and look for the label at the top:
“Park with Spott” means vehicle recognition is available.
“Park with Spott (QR Only)” means you’ll need to scan the QR code to enter and exit.
4. Check your licence plate.
Vehicle recognition usually works smoothly, but it may have trouble reading customised plates, or plates with plastic frames, reflective coatings, or that are dirty or damaged.
If your car isn’t recognised, you can always scan the QR code at the car park gate to start your Spott session.
